Who is responsible

Township Pulse, trading as Dr. Schuppert Press is the responsible party (data controller) for personal information collected through this website.

What we collect and why

• Account details (email, login details): to create your account and give you access to My Books. Basis: providing our service to you (contract).
• Order details (name, email, phone, delivery address, books ordered): to fulfil and deliver orders and support you. Basis: contract and legal obligations.
• Text you submit to learning tools: to produce explanations and activities. Basis: contract.
• Technical data (IP address, device and browser information, basic usage): for security, fraud prevention and improving the site. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Messages to us: to answer your questions. Basis: legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

• Service providers who host the site, store data and send emails for us.
• Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for selling eBooks, payments, tax and invoicing.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting), and authorities where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is open. Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where it applies, the GDPR, you may ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict its use, receive a copy, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local supervisory authority. We reply within one month. Contact drschuppert@gmail.com.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside South Africa or the EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and private file storage to protect your information.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential storage: keeping you signed in, and remembering your basket and favourites on your device. We don't use advertising cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings.
