Dr. Schuppert

Dr. Schuppert grew up in Coesfeld, in the flat green corner of Westphalia, and now lives in Bonn.

Her books began as letters: short stories written in two languages for children she met on long stays in southern and eastern Africa. The children wanted more. So did their parents, who were quietly learning German from the German half of the page.

That is the idea behind every Dr. Schuppert Press book. The second language is never a test. It is simply how one of the characters speaks, and children pick it up the way they pick up a friend's jokes.
